Charles Reginald B Plim was born in Thame in 1881 the only son of parents Charles J Plim and Matilda (nee Whiston) of 16 East St Thame. His father was a solicitor’s clerk and also county court clerk.

Charles joined the 59th (Oxfordshire) Company of the Imperial Yeomanry in December 1899 (number 2251) but was invalided home in 1900 having contracted typhoid (enteric). At the time of his re-enlistment in Thame on the 1st October 1901 he was working as a farmer.

Trooper 8112 Charles Reginald B Plim, 116th Company Imperial Yeomanry fell in action 28th April 1902 at Steinkop, South Africa, age 20, and is buried at Klipfontein, Steinkop, South Africa.

He is remembered at the Oxfordshire Imperial Yeomanry Boer War Memorial at Christchurch Cathedral, Oxford and on a Memorial Plaque in St Mary’s Church, Thame
